ABOUT ME: I’m a poet, writer, and ocean-obsessed Aries. I’m also the author of Future Tense (forthcoming from Alice James Books, 2026) and Boat Burned (YesYes Books, 2020). I won the Jane Underwood Poetry Prize and the Neil Postman Award for Metaphor. My work has appeared or is forthcoming in: The Sun, The Adroit Journal, Los Angeles Review, and elsewhere. I’ve received fellowships from the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing and Kenyon Review Young Writers’ Workshop. I’ve written three poetry craft books, taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District and won Best Feature Screenplay at the Atlanta Comedy Film Festival for my feature, Magic Little Pills. I hold an MFA from Randolph College.

Most importantly, I landed a book deal with my dream publisher before taking a formal workshop. Everything I learned, I learned by teaching myself to read closely and write strategically, by letting my creativity lead, and I can teach you to do the same.My goal is to get you closer to who you want to be and what you need to say.
